TEN MILE RIVER WATERSHED

Friends of the Ten Mile River Watershed- April Events
Good Afternoon everybody,

The April weather hasn’t been great, but we are hoping for nicer days very soon. I wanted to share with you our upcoming April events.

On April 19th at 10:00, we are taking part in the great Keep Attleboro Beautiful cleanup. We will be meeting along Collins Street in South Attleboro and will spend a few hours cleaning up Sweden Swamp.

This is a very valuable wetland that has been threatened by development several times in the past decades. This area is home to abundant wildlife but is also used as a dumping area. Wear long sleeves and bring gloves. Come make a difference with us. We will have fun while doing it.

On April 24th, we will be leading an easy two mile hike at Martin Conservation Area in North Attleboro at 6:00 PM. Meet at the end of Wild Acre Road.

We will walk a newly improved trail, taking in views of Falls Pond and will visit several wetlands and look for the sights and sounds of spring while taking in a (hopefully) beautiful spring evening in the woods of the upper Ten Mile River Watershed.

We will also discuss some of the history of the area and talk about the wildlife that has been seen on the property. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water.

We are looking forward to seeing you on the river. Fingers crossed for some beautiful weather!
