A joint meeting of the APL Biography and Kindness Book Groups to discuss the final book for this year’s Kindness Community Read: Dare to Be Kind: How Extraordinary Compassion Can Transform Our World by Lizzie Velasquez.

Threads of Kindness: Stories from Many Traditions (Tues., March 11, 6:30-7:30pm at Bishop Feehan High School): The Attleboro Area Interfaith Collaborative will bring together storytellers who are also faith leaders from various traditions to share stories, inspire unity, foster understanding, and celebrate the ways in which kindness is a shared moral thread across cultures and religions.

Garden Stories: Attleboro Council on Aging READS! (Thurs., March 13, 6:30-7:30pm): Join Kelly Lee, Director of the Attleboro Council on Aging, for an intergenerational, garden story and activity! Kids will learn easy, fun ways to show kindness to older adults. This program is part of Attleboro’s Reading Passport program for kids in grades K-4, so bring your passport to be stamped.

Kindness Club for Grades 5-12 (Wed., March 26, 3:30-4:30pm): Inspired by the Olivia Knighton Foundation, this monthly program helps youth spread kindness in the city. During this session, make kindness friendship bracelets—for yourself and to share with others! Have you witnessed an act of kindness lately?

Please share by writing it on a “link” of gold or silver paper located near the elevator. APL staff will add it to a paper chain representing Attleboro’s jewelry history.

Women’s History Month: Throughout March, APL staff will create book and film displays celebrating the achievements of women worldwide!

Great Gardens of Southern England (Mon., March 10, 6:30-8pm): Local favorite and Master Gardener Kathi Gariepy takes you on an armchair tour of some of the greatest gardens in England. From London to Devon and up to the fairytale cottage gardens of the Cotswold, see the English countryside in full bloom. Get inspiration for your own garden at this session!

Craft Club for Grades 5-12: Starting an Art Journal (Wed., March 12, 6-7pm): It’s easier than you think to start an art journal. Work on different art prompts, and then add to your journal at home with the additional prompts given!

APL Writing Group Listening Session (Wed., March 26, 6:30-8pm): If you’re a budding writer, drop in for this listening session to collaborate on ideas for how a writing group can work at APL.

Public Health Workshop: Backyard Animals (Thurs., March 27, 6-7pm): If you have backyard animals or are considering them, join this session, where various topics will be discussed, including permits; city ordinances; food, water, and fecal management for backyard animals; and best practices for dealing with rodents.
