Rhode Island Compost Conference & Tradeshow draws nationally recognized keynote, regionally celebrated experts, and boasts record registration

PROVDIENCE, RI – The Rhode Island Compost Conference & Tradeshow is designed to connect and inspire food waste generators, composters, food recovery organizations, regulators, legislators, and the general public to network, to trade ideas and learn more about compost and the food waste ecosystem.

The event has sold out at 200 registrants, illustrating a growing interest across the northeast for advancing wasted food solutions.

WHAT: A full-day event featuring four tracks of morning and afternoon panels representing solutions for municipal and community food waste, surplus and wasted food in schools and helping businesses, 16 local and regional exhibitors, and an ice cream social to close the day!

WHY: Rhode Island’s landfill is nearing capacity, and wasted food is the state’s most prominent and avoidable waste stream. Registrants represent composters, haulers, municipality personnel, students, faculty, administrators, restaurant owners, and others eager to learn alternative methods of food waste disposal. Attendees will come away with knowledge of many different composting methods, as well as a good sense of what tactics typically do and don’t work.
