The Money Train: MA Vehicle Economy
Cars have been prioritized on our roads for so long that we don’t often stop and think about how much this car-centric approach costs us. Join us as we take a clear-eyed look at the individual, state-level and social costs of the main mode of transportation in the state.
On January 15, we’ll hear from Stevie Olson, co-author of The $64 Billion Massachusetts Vehicle Economy. Stevie will talk about the main findings addressed in their paper, and will help us understand how we integrate the costs of motor vehicle transportation into the wider discussion of transportation costs borne by the state and directly by residents.
Stevie will be joined in conversation by Julia Wallerce, Assistant Director of Transportation at the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC).
