The Week In Pawtucket
This week, the holiday spirit was in full swing across Pawtucket! From the heartwarming 3rd Annual Saint Teresa’s Tree Lighting to the joyful Hearts of Kindness Foundation Christmas Toy Drive, our city came together to spread hope and cheer.
These events not only brightened the season but also reminded us of the strength and generosity of our community. Thank you to all the volunteers, organizations, and residents who made these moments so special for our families.
We also celebrated remarkable achievements across our diverse and vibrant city. At Shea High School, Multi-Language Learners were recognized for their outstanding performance on the January 2024 ACCESS test, showcasing the strength of Pawtucket’s multilingual community.
Additionally, our commitment to inclusion was highlighted with a look back at what has earned our city the 2024 PBN Diversity & Inclusion Award, honoring events like our PRIDE celebrations and year-round flag raisings. These moments reflect our dedication to embracing all cultures and identities, making Pawtucket a city where everyone belongs.
Public safety and infrastructure were another focal point this week, with a look at the significant advancements for our Fire Department thanks to over $2 million in federal grants. These funds are bringing cutting-edge equipment, paramedic training, and critical technology upgrades—all while saving taxpayers money.
On the law enforcement front, we proudly welcomed three newly sworn-in and 10 promoted officers to the Pawtucket Police Department. Their dedication reinforces our mission to ensure safety and trust throughout the city. Together, we’re building a stronger, safer, and more inclusive Pawtucket!
