City of Pawtucket to Host Historic Civil War Soldier Burial Ceremony
WHAT:
The City of Pawtucket will hold a ceremony to lay to rest the cremains of Byron R. Johnson, a U.S. Civil War Union Soldier and Pawtucket native who served in the 11th Rhode Island Infantry. The event will mark one of the final Civil War soldier burials in the United States, offering a historic opportunity to witness and honor this moment.
