The George Gritzbach Band plays inventive takes on classics and a healthy helping of innovative originals, offering a great mix of blues, roots, and R&B.
The band has appeared at various venues and Festivals across North America, including local nightclubs and Performing Arts Centers. They have opened for B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, and many others. They are also versatile enough to play unplugged acoustic sets for a more intimate experience.
The band, led by George, a serious blues devotee who caused a sensation when he first debuted on the New England blues scene, is now backed by a seasoned rhythm section featuring Scott Lariviere on bass and backing vocals, Johnny Menezes on keyboards and Christian McCarthy on drums, percussion and backing vocals. Rounding out the ensemble is the “Hot Gritz Horns” led by Peter Murray on saxes, featuring Joe Mongelli on trumpet and Paul Ross on baritone sax. The ensemble continues to be in demand as a high energy R&B dance band strongly rooted in blues, funk, and New Orleans styles.

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod welcomes artist Aline Lindemann to our Guyer Barn Gallery in Hyannis with her exhibition “Collecté.” A mixed-media artist, Aline Lindemann loves to combine old with new in her paintings, collages, assemblages, and textile work. By incorporating vintage ephemera or fabrics into her art, she reminds the beauty to appreciate the past, begins conversations, and grapples with enduring questions. This exhibition will be on display from Oct 8-Nov 11. This is a free event, and all are welcome.

Come discover how “Unfinished Democracy” explores the intersection of art and politics, illuminating the evolving narrative of democracy in the United States. This juried exhibition, on display from Oct 8-Nov 5 in our four main galleries, invites viewers to contemplate the unfinished nature of democracy and the role of active civic engagement leading to a more inclusive and just society.
In the spirit of civic duty, guests are asked to show they voted to gain entry to this event.
