RI FOOD POLICY CHANGEMAKERS

Senator Tiara Mack and State Representative Terri Cortvriend to be honored as RI Food Policy Council’s 2024 “Food Policy Changemakers”

PROVIDENCE, RI  The Rhode Island Food Policy Council is honoring two legislators with “Food Policy Changemaker Awards” at the Providence Public Library as part of the organization’s annual Policy Retreat.

WHO: 

Honorees – Senator Tiara Mack and State Representative Terri Cortvriend. Host – RI Food Policy Council (RIFPC)

WHAT: 

A short award presentation on stage. Members of RIFPC will present two legislators RIFPC has identified as champions of RI’s food system. Photo op to follow.

WHEN:

 Monday, September 9, 2024. Event open 10AM – 2PM (award presentation between 11 AM – 11:30 AM)

WHERE:

 Providence Public Library, Auditorium (3rd floor)

WHY:

 Rhode Islanders are becoming increasingly aware of the critical role the food system plays in the overall health and well-being of the state. RIFPC aims to acknowledge and celebrate the good work done by policy influencers (legislators) to advance legislation that creates a more just, equitable, and environmentally sustainable food system in Rhode Island.
