Linden Place Manion’s Slave Trade Walking Tours Continue this Summer

Linden Place Museum invites you to join our walking tours of Linden Place Mansion and downtown Bristol, focusing on the DeWolf Family’s significant role in the transatlantic slave trade. The DeWolf family, prominent in Bristol during the 18th and early 19th centuries, was among the largest slave traders in New England.

These guided tours, available on select Thursday afternoons, begin at Linden Place, a stunning Federal-style mansion designed by architect Russell Warren for George DeWolf. The tour proceeds through historic Bristol to the waterfront, highlighting key sites tied to the town’s extensive and profitable involvement in the slave trade. Tickets for the tour are $20, or $15 for Linden Place members, and include a complimentary self-guided tour of Linden Place Mansion.
