PAWTUCKET – Mayor Donald R. Grebien announced that the Pawtucket Department of Public Works will begin road repaving for the spring in the coming weeks. Roadways are first milled to remove the top surface of the pavement.
Once the top surface of the pavement is removed, the asphalt is laid. There will also be a subsection of paving that is tackling preventative maintenance, including fog spray and crack sealing.
“We are making significant progress reinvesting in our roads and infrastructure. Throughout my time as Mayor, the hardworking individuals in our public works department, have been able to pave over 80% of our roads” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “I want to thank our residents for their support, and patience during this process.”
Signage will be posted along the street when work is to be performed. The list below is a planned estimate of all streets to be paved this year.
We ask that residents and visitors please observe the parking restrictions on their respective streets, so the City can quickly and efficiently conduct the work. Residents are advised that construction may also bring dust and noise but the temporary inconvenience will create better and safer roads for years to come, while also paving the way for future economic growth.
