BILL HANNEY’S THEATRE BY THE SEA ANNOUNCES LOCAL YOUTH AUDITIONS FOR SUMMER 2024 PRODUCTION OF THE SOUND OF MUSIC
Wakefield, RI – Bill Hanney’s Theatre By the Sea announces Local Youth Auditions for its summer production of The Sound of Music. Seeking local youth actors to portray the von Trapp family children. Housing and transportation are not provided for out-of-town actors. All youth actor roles will be double cast, with performances to be shared. Selected performers will need to be available for afternoon, evening, and weekend rehearsals from July 9 – 23 and all day and evening performances from July 24 – August 17, 2024.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024

ALL PERFORMERS AND EMPLOYEES MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED AND BOOSTED AGAINST COVID-19.
Those auditioning should bring a current headshot or a recent photo and a resume.
Following the movement call, some Actors will be asked to stay and sing.
Children should come prepared with a brief song selection, preferably with sheet music, in the style of the show.
An accompanist will be provided. A cappella will be permitted but is not encouraged.
Auditions will be by appointment. Sign-ups will open on Monday, March 11

GRETL – Female, to play 5 years old
MARTA – Female, to play 7 years old
BRIGITTA – Female, to play 10 years old
KURT – Male, to play 11 years old
LOUISA – Female, to play 13 years old
FRIEDRICH – Male, to play 14 years old
