MAYOR BRETT SMILEY-PROVIDENCE

Neighbor,

I am excited to announce that earlier this month, we launched the 2024 Community Satisfaction Survey; an invaluable tool meant to empower each of you to help shape the future of our city. The input collected through these surveys allows us here at City Hall to better understand which services are most utilized and pinpoint areas that require improvement.

Last year’s Community Satisfaction Survey yielded significant results that directly impacted our city’s development. We prioritized overhauling sidewalk repairs, established a new Providence Police Academy, invested in housing and youth out-of-school opportunities, and invested in technology to enforce Providence’s noise ordinance. Our budget, federal funds, and capital improvement plans made these initiatives possible, guided by your feedback.

This year’s  Community Satisfaction Survey is comprised of two parts: a resident-focused public opinion poll conducted by phone and a digital survey open to all Providence businesses. The digital survey is available in multiple languages, including English,Spanish,Portuguese,French,Chinese,Khmer, and Arabic, to encourage broad participation. Business owners can participate at providenceri.gov/survey now through February 2.

We want to hear directly hear from you– our residents, and business owners. Whether shared during the public opinion poll or through the digital survey, your honest opinions help us prioritize improvements and enhance city services.

Thank you for your continued support and I am confident that together, we can continue building a Providence that reflects the aspirations and needs of every resident, business owner, and community member.

Sincerely.

Brett Smiley
