A Contemporary Narrative will marry selections from the Attleboro Arts Museum’s special collection of Civil War memorabilia with a contemporary work developed by a Black visual artist. The art on view has been created in the artist’s personal style and chosen medium. Each piece will be accompanied by a statement from the artist, outlining the concept behind their work and how the permanent collection piece inspired their visual response.
