Pawtucket Parks & Recreation Division Announces a Winter Recreation/Wellness Class Session

The Pawtucket Parks & Recreation Division has announced their lineup of recreation and wellness classes to be held at the Agnes Little Elementary and Jenks Junior High School for an eight-week session per class option, starting on the week of January 8, 2024.  Registrations are currently running and will continue through January 19 or until the class meets capacity.  Class cancellations that arise as a result of holidays and/or inclement weather will be made up at the end of the session.

Class options held on Monday evenings include Dance Cardio Blast which focuses on toning and burning calories to music, along with a Yoga class that is held at Agnes Little School to help individuals reduce stress, improve sleep and improve flexibility.  Total Body Fit, which incorporates strength training and cardio takes place on Tuesday nights.  Wednesday night offers Dance Cardio Blast and a Dance Mix class that is an introduction to learning dance steps to different genres of music, as well as promoting physical fitness.  Yoga is available again on Thursday nights, in addition to a new American Sign Language class for 2024.  The overall cost for the 8-week session, per individual class selection is $48 for Pawtucket residents and $64 for non-residents, with the exception of the Sign Language option which is $ 80 for residents of Pawtucket and $ 90 for non-residents.  

Children’s gymnastics classes are held on Saturday mornings with a class available from 9:30 am – 10:30 am for children 4 – 6 years old.  Classes for children 7 – 17 years old take place from 10:45 am – 11:45 am.  The overall eight-week cost for these classes is $56 for Pawtucket residents and $72 for non-residents.

Class information along with registrations may be done online by accessing the Parks & Recreation “Department’s tab” through the City of Pawtucket’s website, www.pawtucketri.com. Directions are provided for not only creating an account if necessary, but also registering for the classes.  A credit or debit card payment will be requested to fulfill the registration process.
