RIDE – RI DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green

With all the recent buzz around RICASEducate401, our WaterFire to salute educators, the recent Milken Educator Awards, and more, I would like to extend a huge thank you to all of those who worked tirelessly to ensure our students and educators started the school year off right. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has not been easy; however, you are all resilient and continue to shine brightly to lead the way for #OurKids.

We have received much feedback on our progress to recovery post-pandemic. Around the state, we have seen incremental gains in student outcomes, increased supports for student and educator wellbeing, and improvements to our learning spaces. However, we know our work is not done and we must continue to stay the course. Remember, this work cannot be done without consistent attendance by our students. It’s #Cool2BeInSchoolRI!

On that note, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge all of Rhode Island’s visionary school principals who lead our schools, promote positive culture and climate, and support our students, families, and educators each and every day. It has been wonderful to see school districts celebrating National School Principals Month!

In partnership,

Angélica Infante-Green
