In September we BEARed witness to generations of players gathered under the lights to honor the proud history and accomplishments of Coach Peter Mazzaferro. It was goosebump-worthy to see a sea of Bears come together to honor Coach for the dedication of the Peter Mazzaferro Field at the Edward C. Swenson Athletic Complex. What a testament to leadership, loyalty, and commitment. Whether you were able to celebrate this occasion in person or in spirit, we thank you for making this game and event such a memorable one.
While BSU evolves our core values stay the same. Watching the current team witness this dedication surrounded by President Clark, ’83, and a host of advocates was extraordinary.
Luckily, it does not end here.
We are recruiting for a new team and we need you. We are creating a fund in perpetuity for the teams of the future. The outcome will help Coach Verria and ALL future coaches to make a lasting impact on our student-athletes – the way Mazz and so many did for you. When we talk about our proud history at BSU we often speak of the giants whose shoulders we stand on, and now it is our turn to be those leaders.
