ABOUT THE JUROR:  Chris Kane

Artist Statement

I have traveled three paths in my career in art. As an educator I have been teaching high schoolers drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and design, to prepare them for art college and careers in the arts. As a foundry owner, modeler, and mold maker, I have worked to bring the sculpture projects of a multitude of artists to life in bronze, aluminum, and plaster. As a figurative sculptor, I have made many site-specific works for private clients and municipalities. My experiences have deepened my appreciation for sculptures of all types, abstract to representational, in materials as varied as the imagination.
