The Alliance Commends Select Board for Declaring September ‘General Aviation Appreciation Month’
Washington, DC – Today, the Alliance for Aviation Across America commended the Select Board of Mansfield, MA, for proclaiming September “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” In Massachusetts, general aviation airports support an economic impact of $630 million annually.
“The Select Board’s proclamation helps highlight the economic benefits and valuable service that general aviation provides to Mansfield,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We sincerely thank the board and the town for recognizing this vital industry.”
The proclamation not only cites the economic impact of general aviation and local airports like the Mansfield Municipal Airport but also the importance of investing in this infrastructure to encourage enthusiasm in flying and grow the next generation of pilots and aviation professionals, as well as to encourage future growth through investments in sustainability.
