RIDE: RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

Being Present for #Back2SchoolRI!

With students across the state heading back into the classroom, we’re not just opening doors to new, state-of-the-art buildings across the state; we’re also opening doors to opportunities. From real-world relevant courses to unique and engaging out-of-school learning opportunities, Rhode Island is working to ensure all students are equipped with what they need to thrive during their educational journey and graduate prepared for college and career.

On that note, it is essential for children to be in the classroom and engaged in order to have a successful school year. Remember, it’s #Cool2BeInSchoolRI! We’re committed to providing safe and inclusive environments that encourage engagement and learning for every Rhode Island student. Read more about how we’re prepared for the new school year in my letter to families here.

We’ve also been spotlighting students from across the state this week! From Woonsocket to Little Compton, we’re highlighting how students are gearing up for #Back2SchoolRI and what being present in school means to them at ride.ri.gov/backtoschool. Additionally, hear from the 2023-2024 chair of the Student Advisory Council, Christian Ramos, on his upcoming senior year and how he’s reminding students to make attendance a priority.
