The shelf life of press releases and coverage
Saw a great example of how a press release can have great value long after you issue it. It came in the form of an article in the July 20th issue of Saratoga Today.
The article talked about the new owner of Discovery Map of Saratoga Springs, Dan DeFedericis and how he took over the map after the passing of the previous owner Matt McCabe. This news took yours truly a bit by surprise having interviewed McCabe right after he purchased the map in 2020. Sadly, McCabe died in January 2021 due to complications from Covid-19.
In reading the article further, I noticed copy that looked really familiar. In fact, a significant amount of the initial release sent in 2020 had been repurposed for this piece more than three years later and was still out there generating interest for Discovery Map of Saratoga Springs.
This coverage reminded me of a question a client asked recently. They were concerned about having missed an opportunity to capitalize on recent coverage. This development with Discovery Map is a great example of how coverage has a very long shelf life. Want to test this theory out? Give us a call at 781-582-1061 or drop a line.
