How to take a Soil Sample for Microscopy Assessment:
Best tool is an apple corer or garden spade.
We want an even mix of the top 4 to 6 inches of soil.
Clear away any mulch, leaves and debris from the surface.
With your apple corer or spade, try to get an even amount of soil from every inch of the container.
A half cup will do.
Be as gentle as possible to not squish the microscopic organisms as we want to see them!
