NEW GOATS AT WINSLOW FARM

Meet Dansa, Dahlia and Dora at Winslow Farm

Dahlia and Dora

The arrival of new animals at the farm is always a happy occasion. It is rare to welcome three animals at once but we were fortunate to recently welcome three sweet new goats, Dansa, Dahlia and Dora. Their arrival was especially poignant because the same day they arrived our beloved and oldest goat, Eustace, died in his sleep during the previous night.

Dansa

Dansa is the mother to our boys, Dickens and Dixie who were previously brought to Winslow Farm.

Dahlia and Dora are mother and daughter. All are young goats, no older than two years old. Dora, like Dickens and Dixie, is only one year old.

The goats’ owner left for weeks, leaving his staff to care for them, but the staff did not care for the goats. When they arrived, they were malnourished, with their bones clearly showing. They also only had a small area to live in.

Despite this, the three are extraordinarily affectionate, especially Dansa.

Her boys remembered her and spent time reuniting with their mom. Also, Dixie has been especially kind to little Dora, licking her head and welcoming her to the Winslow goat herd.
