FRIENDS OF LIBRARY SPONSOR POP-UP BOOK SALE AT JULY BLOCK PARTY
Need to stock up for beach day reading? The Friends of the East Providence Public Library will offer a selection of mysteries, drama and romance novels, as well as a variety of non-fiction books on a wide range of topics at the Summer Block Parties at Weaver Library.
At the July 20 Block Party from 4 to 7 p.m., the Friends book cart will also feature BBQ cookbooks to inspire backyard chefs. In addition, sports-related books will be available, in keeping with the sports theme of the July Block Party.
A separate cart will offer paperback novels to take on summer travels. Hard and soft cover books are just $1; paperback books, children’s and young adult books are 50¢ each.
To help you pass the time on rainy days, Friends will also have for sale a selection of gently-used jigsaw puzzles for the whole family.
Bring a few extra non-perishable food items, and you won’t need any money to shop for books.
The Friends booth will host a Food 4 Books drive at the July Block Party. Friends’ members will accept food donations for local food pantries and provide coupons for free books.
Coupons can be redeemed immediately or at the August 24 or September 21 Block Party.
Or they can be used at any Friend’s book sale or anytime at the Never- Ending Book Sale at Weave or Riverside Library.
