LTE: MAYOR OF PROVIDENCE BRETT SMILEY

Noticias de la ciudad de Providence

City of Providence

Dear Neighbors

When I took office, I promised our residents that my Administration would focus on the critical issues that matter most to them. We know our city has long struggled with ATVs making our streets unsafe and negatively impacting the quality of life across all of our neighborhoods.

I am proud to say that today, just three months after implementing our Community Response Team, we have confiscated over 100 ATVs and illegal vehicles, the same amount that was confiscated over the three years prior.

This is progress, and I am thankful for the exceptional work of our police department. We have reached this milestone all while Providence Police have gotten 160+ illegal guns off our streets. We continue to fight crime across our city and are beginning to enforce our noise ordinances– an issue nearly half of our residents identified as a top priority.

While we are off to a strong start, we still need your help. The community’s use of the ATV tip-line has been critical in proactively determining where illegal vehicles are being stored and where riders are congregating.

Together, we are building a safer Providence for all and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors. If you have any information about these illegal vehicles, I encourage you to call our ATV tip line at 401-680-TATV (8288) or email us at ATVtips@providenceri.gov

Sincerely,

BRETT SMILEY
