A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Summer is here and library staff could not be happier! Record numbers of local readers are signing up for summer reading – literally. I’m told more kids signed up for the 2023 Summer Reading Program “Find Your Voice” in the first week than signed up last summer! And our statistics show we had over 500 people walk through the library doors on Wednesday, June 22!

WHY are all of these people visiting? I’m SO glad you asked! Maybe it’s because of the programs being offered. Or maybe it’s because they heard about all of the great book clubs held here. It might be the air conditioning, the wifi, the friendly, helpful staff, the local history room, or any of the outstanding collections we offer – for FREE! Whatever it is, library staff are always eager to hear what we can do for you and are happy to help make things a little easier, whether it is locating a recipe, a newspaper article, or a book to take on vacation

As much as we love to have you visit us, we’re out and about around the city, too! Last month we marched in the Memorial Day Parade, celebrated Pride, unfortunately got rained out of Juneteenth, AND hosted the Summer Reading Kickoff in the Balfour Riverwalk Park.

Soon you’ll find us taking selfies in front of the gorgeous new artwork in the downtown! Do you recognize any of the Attleboro landmarks on this newly installed construction banner created by Attleboro native Quincy Harding?

Whether you are vacationing far away or enjoying your own backyard this July, the library certainly has something to help you get the rest and relaxation this time of year is known for. We invite you to stop in and look around and see what YOUR library can offer YOU!
