BLACKSTONE VALLEY TOURISM

Serving up Culture –

FIVE FARMS TO TASTE THE SPRING HARVEST

Strawberries are a big hit at Goodwin Brothers Farm Stand in North Smithfield. They have the best selection of freshly picked berries available! Rhubarb is also making their way from the field to the stand … a combo perfect for making Strawberry-Rhubarb pie!

Jaswell’s Farm

Asparagus season is in full swing at Jaswell’s Farm in Smithfield. Pick some up when you visit their market.

Be sure to try one of their asparagus tarts – very tasty for a quick bite. Pair it with a glass of lavender or strawberry basil lemonade made with their own homemade lemonade for an amazing treat!

Burrillville Farmers Market

is now open on Saturdays from 9 am – 12:30 pm for fresh seasonal vegetables, local meat and eggs and arts & crafts. While there, relax to live music or, when available, take a short horse-drawn wagon ride with Liberty Farm & Carriage around Harrisville by the picturesque waterfall.

The Farm

For your salad greens (Bok Choy, lettuce or Swiss chard) visit The Farm in Chepachet. They also carry baked goods like strawberry-rhubarb turnovers and muffins, plus annual plants and other local farm products in their country barn.

The Butterfly Farm

To complete your salad with some fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, visit The Butterfly Farm  stand on historic Great Road in Lincoln. They also have fresh eggs when available and lots of plants for home and garden including colorful marigolds, a natural insect repellent.
