Friends of the Ten Mile River Watershed would like to invite all of you to the following upcoming events to kick off the summer season:
Dodge Cemetery Spruce Up and Flag Replacement- Join us as we continue our efforts at Dodge Cemetery in Attleboro. This year, we will be picking up litter along the shore of Dodgeville Pond, clearing brush and leaves from the burial ground, Fixing headstones as needed, installing a bird bath, filling bird feeders, planting native shrubs and replacing the flag for John Dodge JR who served in the Civil War.
This event is in honor of Memorial Day. Participants should bring gloves and water. Long sleeves are recommended. Meet at the corner of Fisher Ave and South Main Street in Attleboro at 9:00 AM on Sunday, May 28th.
Trails Day at Falls Pond- In honor of National Trails Day, we will be working to create trails along with the town of North Attleboro and Keep North Attleboro Beautiful.
For this event, we will be mapping the route for a new section of trail and closing down an existing section.
Work will include flagging a route through possibly heavy brush and removing debris from an unauthorized brook crossing. Also, we will be marking a section of trail that is already open and passible.
Wear long pants and bring water.
Meet at the end of Wild Acre Road in North Attleboro at 9:00 AM on Sunday, June 4th.
Annual Rivers Month Walk and Celebration- Join us in celebrating Rivers Month by enjoying a two-mile easy stroll along the Ten Mile River in Attleboro.
We will walk along the Riverwalk to Larson Woodland, enjoying the early summer weather and the views of our river.
After the walk, participants are invited to join us for dinner and friendly conversation at Brigg’s Corner Pizza. Please bring cash and register for the dinner portion of the event by emailing Tenmilefriends@gmail.com by June 15th.
There is no need to register for the walk portion. We will meet by the boat launch on Riverfront Drive in Attleboro at 6:00 PM on June 22nd.
