YOUTH SUMMER/TENNIS CAMP REGISTRATIONS AND SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES ARE NOW AVAILABLE
Online registrations for the 2023 Youth Tennis Camp and Slater Park Summer Camp are currently underway.
The Tennis Camp program is open to all youth from ages 5 – 18 years old, from any community. The Tennis Camp program is held at the Kenney Tennis Courts in Slater Park. In addition to the instructional and fun activities, the program also offers league play for those who are 14 – 18 years of age. The advanced instruction and league play are a great option for students to maintain conditioning over the summer for school tennis programs in the fall.
The Pawtucket Parks & Recreation Division will also be accepting online registrations only for the Slater Park Summer Camp this season.
Unlike the tennis camp, the summer camp program is for children who are Pawtucket residents only, who attend a Pawtucket public school or reside at a Pawtucket address throughout the school year.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS are encouraged to review the Slater Park Summer Camp packet thoroughly to review policies and specific registration information prior to registering their child.
Registrations completed in full will be given precedence over those requiring additional documentation.
Registration information is available on the City of Pawtucket website at pawtucketri.com/parks & recreation under the Summer Camp or Tennis icons.
Visiting the Pawtucket Parks and Recreation, Slater Park Camp or Slater Park Tennis Facebook pages is also encouraged. For those unable to register online for these programs, spaces will be made available to register in person, starting Saturday, May 20 at the Slater Park Pavilion from 10 am – noon.
The Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Division is also offering summer job opportunities to individuals 16 years of age or older.
Employment applications will be available to Pawtucket residents only, for summer camp counselor opportunities at Slater Memorial Park.
All summer camp candidates must be available to work from June 26 through August 11.
There are also several openings for non-paying “counselor-in-training” positions for candidates 14 or 15 years of age.
A “CIT” notation should be included on the application when returned.
Veteran’s Park Pool attendants are also needed this summer from June 27 through August 20th.
Candidates are not required to be Pawtucket residents but must be 16 years of age or older and available to work on weekdays as well as weekends.
Employment applications for all positions are available at the Slater Park Office located at 825 Armistice Boulevard during the operational hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Candidates will be contacted on Thursday, May 24 to return for an interview.
If selected, the candidate will be contacted with instructions to complete additional employment paperwork.
Selected applicants who are 18 years of age or older, will require a BCI check that will be facilitated through the City of Pawtucket.
