SEED Celebrates Small Business Week
Everyone knows small businesses and entrepreneurs play a vital role in the strength and prosperity of our local and regional economies, but do you know how impactful small businesses are on the national level?

1. There were 33.2 million small businesses in the US as of 2022 which accounted for 99.9% of all US businesses.
2. Between March of 2020 and March of 2021, small businesses were responsible for the creation of 8.7 million jobs throughout the country.
3. The most common reason entrepreneurs decide to start their own business is to be able to be their own boss.
4. May has been recognized as Small Business Month since 1963, with one week of this month designated Small Business Week each year.
5. Younger generations are 188% more likely than previous generations to own and operate a small business in a full-time or part-time capacity
