Regarded as one of the most influential filmmakers in the world, Yasujiro Ozu is known for his elliptical storytelling and human centered perspective.
AN AUTUMN AFTERNOON is the Tokyo born artist’s final masterpiece, an elegantly composed and achingly tender story about a man’s dignified resignation to life’s shifting currents and society’s modernization.
Ukiyo-e presents a subtle influence AUTUMN AFTERNOON, and we’ll look at the aesthetic lineage between the older art form and the auteur’s highly acclaimed last film.
