ATTEBORO PUBLIC LIBRARY

A Message From The Director

There is a lot to look forward to in May, beginning with the return of the Library gardens. The kids in Serve Up are helping to clean and prep the property around the building, and volunteers from Sensata will join the fun on Thursday, May 11, during their Day of Giving.

We’re grateful to the Attleboro Garden Club and the Parks & Forestry Department for all of their assistance keeping the grounds looking great.

Inside the building things are looking beautiful as well. The Relay for Life of Greater Attleboro has handcrafted  luminaria created by Attleboro Arts Museum artists on display to bring attention to their 25th anniversary event happening June 9-10. The Library is always happy to partner with this dynamic group dedicated to furthering cancer research.

If you had fun with us in April, celebrating Library Giving Day and National Library Week, you’re going to LOVE participating in the upcoming Friends event, An Evening with Ted Reinstein.

The beloved Chronicle reporter is returning to 74 North Main Street on May 24 to share his most inspiring and uplifting stories.

This free event, sponsored by the Friends of APL, is open to the public and serves as their way to say THANK YOU for supporting the Library.

When you attend this program, be sure to say hello to the Friends who will be there and let them know how much the Library means to you!

Finally, May means summer is right around the corner, with Memorial Day marking the beginning of the Summer Reading season.

Watch for Library staff and volunteers in the city’s Memorial Day Parade and remember that the building will be closed on Monday, May 29.

THANK YOU.

AMY
