ATTLEBORO COMMUNITY THEATRE – 67TH SEASON

The 67th season of Attleboro Community Theatre (ACT) is filled with joy, tradition, laughs, a coffin, a few ghosts, sword fights, mystery, family, songs, love, and a whole lot more.

 

 

ACT has been bringing theatre to the people of Attleboro since 1957 and we are so excited to bring to life this fantastic collection of plays.

 

The Viewing Room

September 15th to October 1st, 2023

Saying good-bye to the dearly departed has never been so funny in this comedy set in the viewing room of a Holyoke, MA funeral home. When an estranged son returns home after years away, you will be surprised by who gets the last word.

 

While loaded with laughs, The Viewing Room is packed with heart as we see what makes a family. Directed by longtime ACT member Jeanne Smith, The Viewing Room will be a surefire hit.

 

 

A Christmas Carol

December 1st to 17th 2023

Original story by Charles Dickens

The tradition continues! Dickens’ classic tale of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge returns to the ACT stage. Full of magic, ghosts, laughs, and cheer what better way to start your holiday season then with us.

 

 

Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery

March 1st to 17th 2024

Get your deerstalker cap on — the play is afoot! From the award-winning mastermind of mayhem, Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor), and acclaimed director Philip Markella, is this fast-paced comedy about everyone’s favorite detective solving his most notorious case.

 

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must crack the mystery of “The Hound of the Baskervilles” before a family curse dooms its newest heir. Presented like you have never seen Sherlock before, Baskerville will leave you scratching your head and laughing out loud.

Viola, separated from her twin Sebastian, dresses as a boy, and works for Orsino, whom she falls in love with. Orsino is in love with Olivia, and sends Viola to court her for him, but Olivia falls for Viola instead. Then Sebastian arrives…

 

With a new edit and direction by Jay Burns; along with some mistaken identity, a drunk scheming uncle, and a few love songs—all make this one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies.
