RHODE ISLAND FOR COMMUNITY & JUSTICE

RICJ Youth Visiting Our US Capitol

Youth Action Council (YAC) & Young Women’s Equity Coalition (YWEC) are busy this year with meetings, community projects, trainings, plans for summer camp and for the first time in years…

A visit to Washington DC, our nation’s capitol, April 9-13

YAC & YWEC empower RI teens as leaders of change, dialogue and social action. Experiencing our nation’s capitol will be lifechanging. Youth will visit Capitol Hill, Library of Congress, the African American, Holocaust & Smithsonian Museums, Howard University, more.

With gifts from the Black Philanthropy Bannister Fund and generous individuals, we’ve covered over half the cost of lodging, transport, food and fees for our group of 16, but need your help with a final $4,000.

With 401GivesRI, you can help!

401Gives is Rhode Island’s statewide weekend of giving. Early donations start Friday, March 31 @ 6AM and end Monday, April 3 @ 6PM. You can help us earn special matching gifts and prizes, too!

Please help YAC and YWEC reach our goal. Tell your friends and family of the important work RICJ does. Ask them to join in helping make a difference. Please forward and share this message.

Mark your calendar for 3/31 to 4/3.

No gift is too large or too small! You can target a gift to the DC trip or summer teen leadership camp or our ongoing youth projects like our 4/8/23 Soup Kitchen. We’d be so grateful for your support.
