February Happenings @ the APL
Letter from the Director
As I write this note, sun is streaming in the office window, story time is starting and staff are sharing their favorite titles for 2023 book challenges. (I recommend The Hawk’s Way by Sy Montgomery for the MA Center for the Book‘s Under 100 Pages prompt!)
We’re also looking forward to seeing what the groundhog has to say about the coming spring, knowing that she isn’t the most trustworthy source! What are you doing to get through this New England winter?
Reading books?
Watching movies?
Attending events?
Let us know!
Staff have just the right suggestions for you and your family.
If you’ve already been the lucky recipient of librarian suggestions, please take a minute to tell state lawmakers how much you value the APL.
Throughout the month of February, Valentines from library patrons will be collected virtually and in the first-floor lobby.
These messages are shared with library advocates across the state as a fun way to let them know how much library services are appreciated. With almost 300 people a day walking through the doors, we know patrons value the library.
Now is your chance to tell us why! If you’re looking for a reason to love YOUR library, take a look at the work done here in 2022!
On that note, I’d like to speak on behalf of the library staff, board, library volunteers, and Friends to say how much we all LOVE serving you! Your questions and comments, smiles and suggestions, make coming to work a pleasure every day of the year!
