RIPTA to Detour Twenty-three Routes to Accommodate City of Providence Mayoral Inauguration on Monday, January 2, 2023
Detours will be in effect from 2:45 PM to 4 PM
Providence, Rhode Island, December 28, 2022 — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will detour Routes 1, 3, 4, 6, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 51, 54, 58, 60, 78, 92 and the R-Line on Monday, January 2, 2023, to accommodate the City of Providence’s Mayoral Inauguration. The detour will be in effect from 2:45 PM to 4 PM.
The following routes will be detoured on Monday, January 2, 2023:
Route 1 (Eddy/Hope/Benefit):
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Eddy Street through to Memorial
Boulevard, left on Steeple Street through to Exchange Terrace, left on
Dorrance Street, and then left on Washington Street to Bus Stop I.
Inbound trips will travel the regular route.
Route 3 (Oakland Beach):
Inbound trips will travel regular route to Eddy Street through to Memorial Boulevard, turn left on Steeple Street to Exchange Terrace, turn left on Dorrance Street, and then left on Washington Street to Bus Stop G.
Outbound trips will travel regular route.
Route 4 (Warwick Neck):

Route 6 (Prairie/Roger Williams Park Zoo):
Inbound trips will travel the regular route.
Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop D, turn left on Dorrance Street, right on Weybosset Street through to Broad Street and then resume regular route.
Route 17 (Dyer/Pocasset):
Inbound trips will travel the regular route to Dave Gavitt Way through to Broadway, turn right on Empire Street, left on Fulton Street, right on Dorrance Street, left on Washington Street, and then resume regular route.
Outbound trips will leave Fulton Street, turn left on Dorrance Street, turn right on Weybosset Street through to Broad Street, right on Dave Gavitt Way, left on Westminster Street, and then resume regular route.
Route 18 (Union Avenue):

Route 20 (Elmwood Ave./TF Green Airport):
Inbound trips will travel regular route.
Outbound trips will leave Bus Stop C, turn left on Dorrance Street, right on Weybosset Street through to Broad Street and then resume regular route.
Route 21 (Reservoir/Garden City):
Inbound trips will travel the regular route.
Outbound trips will travel the regular route to Dorrance Street, left onto
Dorrance Street, left onto Lower Weybosset Street through to Exchange Street, left on Memorial Boulevard, and then resume regular route.
Route 22 (Pontiac Avenue):

Inbound trips will travel regular route to Steeple Street through to Exchange Terrace, turn left on Dorrance Street, and then left on Washington Street to Bus Stop H.

Inbound trips will travel regular route to Eddy Street through to Memorial Boulevard, turn left on Steeple Street through to Exchange Terrace, turn left on Dorrance Street, left on Washington Street, and then resume regular route.

Route 92 (RI College – West):
Westbound trips will travel the regular route to the Bus Stop D, turn left onto Dorrance Street, right on Weybosset Street through to Broad Street, right on Dave Gavitt Way, left on Atwells Avenue, and then resume regular route.
R-Line SOUTH:
Southbound trips will travel regular route to Bus Stop D, turn left on Dorrance Street, right on Weybosset Street through to Broad Street and then resume regular route.
