RIBBON CUTTING SACCUCCI HONDA MIDDLETOWN, RI

Saccucci Honda of Middletown and NEC Solar to celebrate new solar installation on dealership with ribbon cutting event November 18.

Saccucci Honda of Middletown is hosting a ribbon cutting event with local installer NEC Solar to celebrate the completion of a 200kW system on the dealership roof. NEC Solar, headquartered in Bristol, R.I., and Saccucci Honda are both family owned and operated local businesses. The solar installation includes 445 panels at 450 Watts each and 3 central inverters. With estimated power generation of more than 225,000kWh the array will offset 100% of the dealership’s electricity consumption.

Saccucci Honda and NEC are inviting the community to join them in celebrating the new array with a ribbon cutting event on Friday, Nov. 18 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. NEC Solar will be at the dealership with an information booth. A raffle with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, features $1000 towards the purchase of a solar system with NEC.

Barbara Saccucci, co-owner and general manager, says the process was easy. “We are all very excited about this next step and going green. Everyone at NEC has been wonderful and extremely professional and we’re very proud of what we’ve accomplished so far. The process for us has been seamless and everything about the install has gone well.”

NEC Solar installs residential and commercial solar arrays and battery storage systems. The company is a division of Newport Electric Construction Corp. NEC also owns Newport Electric, a commercial electric service.

Dave McMullen, owner of NEC Solar, says about the collaboration, “It has been a pleasure to work with them. We are proud to have partnered with Saccucci Honda for the design and installation of their rooftop solar system. By making their existing infrastructure more efficient, we’re enhancing energy performance, and substantially reducing long term operating costs.”

The solar installation will offset the equivalent of over 400,000 miles driven by an average Honda car!
