Vote No on Question 11
Dear Neighbor,
Jorge O. Elorza
As you know, I have been a passionate advocate for transforming our schools. As a product of the City’s public schools, I know that Providence schools have a long way to go. That is why Mayor-Elect Brett Smiley, Mayor Angel Taveras, Mayor Joesph Paolino Jr. and I, are strongly against inserting more politics into Providence schools and are asking Providence voters to vote no on the general election ballot question #11.
We all want to improve our schools. However, an elected school board, as proposed by Question #11 in the upcoming general election, is not the solution for Providence schools.
And so when you vote in this year’s general election, whether early or on Election Day, we ask Providence residents this one question: Do you really think inserting more politics into Providence schools will deliver better outcomes for our kids? If you agree with us that the answer is No, we encourage you to vote No on question #11 on your general election ballot.
To vote early this week, you can visit 444 Westminster Street from 8:30am-4:30pm, and from 9am-4pm this Saturday, November 5. You can also vote on Election Day, November 8, at your designated polling location. You can find your polling location online at the Voter Information Center.
I hope you will join Mayors Paolino and Taveras, Mayor-Elect Smiley and I in encouraging Providence voters to vote no on question #11.
Sincerely
Jorge O. Elorza
