ATTLEBORO ARTS MUSEUM

Attleboro Arts Museum 31st Benefit Art Auction

This is a special year for the Auction.

After a two-year pause, the Museum is able to welcome back its live auction event, complete with all the excitement that audience participation and live bidding brings.

Auctioneer Chris Barber returns to lead the festivities on Saturday, November 5th. 212donations of original art as well as specialty items will be on the block with bids starting at approximately 40%of the value of each auction lot.

In some cases, donors have opted to start the bidding for less than the standard 40% to incent bidders.  All items in the auction were donated to the Museum by artists, collectors, and businesses.

Highlights include a colorful painting entitled Make Way for Ducklings” depicting Nancy Schon’s iconic Boston Common sculpture.

This work, in opaque watercolor, was createdby Attleboro’s famed artist Barbara Corrigan.

A handcrafted walnut and cherry ash chess table and chess set by Seekonk artist Phil Gruppusois also on the block. Gruppuso skillfully added felt lined draws on either side of the table for chess piece storage.

Donated pieces are on currently view in the museum’s Preview Exhibition offering potential bidders a chance to see and familiarize themselves with each item. The Preview Exhibition runs through Saturday, November 5th at 3pm, EST.
