SENE FILM FESTIVAL 2022

SENE Film Festival | October 13-15

The Southeast New England (SENE) Film Festival returns to Rhode Island with an exciting lineup of 115 short and feature-length films from filmmakers across the country and around the world, including 25 short films from local area filmmakers.

The 14th Annual SENE Film Festival runs October 13-15 and will take place at the Artists’ Exchange and Theatre 82 in Cranston. Most film programs will include a Q&A session with attending filmmakers.

The SENE Festival has established itself as one of the premier festivals in New England dedicated to giving life to independent cinema. For four years in a row, the SENE Festival was named one of the Top 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee by MovieMaker Magazine, one of the most respected voices in the film industry.

In 2022, SENE was also selected as one of 20 Great Film Festivals for First-Time Moviemakers by Moviemaker Magazine.

Over the course of the three-day festival, SENE will screen a total of 16 short film programs featuring drama, comedy, thriller, animated, documentary, LGBTQ, sci-fi, and horror programs.

This year the festival will feature two New England Shorts programs showcasing the work of New England-based filmmakers. The first will screen on Thursday, October 13 at 8:15 pm and the second on Saturday, October 15 at 1:00 pm. Both programs will be at Theatre 82 in Cranston.

The festivals’ opening night feature will be ‘Stay With Me’ directed by Connecticut native Marty Lang. The film is about a young woman who struggles through an unspecified mental illness, while her best friend and new boyfriend also struggle as they learn to be her mental health advocates.

The film screens Thursday, October 13 at 6:15 pm at Theatre 82 in Cranston.

Tickets to all screening programs are $10 ($7 seniors/students) and are available at the door. $25 SENE Passes are available which allow access to unlimited film programs during the festival. Festival passes and tickets to select film programs are available in advance online.
