LTE: BRETT SMILEY

Neighbors and Friends,

Our city and state just experienced extreme weather that flooded many of our streets and homes. We are living in the midst of a climate crisis and severe storms like this will only happen more often. On Monday, we watched our infrastructure fail us.

My campaign has been laser-focused on improving the quality-of-life for every single person and business in Providence. That means not only filling potholes and clearing snow quickly and efficiently, but also investing in resilient infrastructure that will withstand the worsening impacts of climate change.

It means better coordination of city vendors and stronger accountability measures for utility providers. And it requires getting road repairs right the first time, every time. That’s why I released my infrastructure and city service plan The Path to the Best-Run City in the Country, which is available

here

As Mayor, I will get back-to-the-basics and prioritize tangible investments in Providence’s infrastructure, we can make Providence the best-run city in America.

Sincerely,

Brett
