Tell the RI PUC & RI Energy: No Rate Hikes!
Time to mobilize against greedy utility hikes
Rhode Island Energy has proposed dramatic increases to rate changes for electric and gas. The impact on a typical residential customer is an increase of 45.7% (or about $50 monthly) on electric bills plus additional increased gas rates.
Less than a year into PPL’s purchase of RI National Grid (now known as RI Energy) they are proposing a historic hike on our rates.
Rhode Island Energy’s request to make the largest rate increase in decades when we are already struggling with inflation and household incomes that can’t keep up with the costs of basic needs.
We reject this rate hike which would cause a spike in utility terminations as we head into the winter.
