ARTS FOUNDATION OF CAPE COD

Greetings!

This week thousands of children throughout the Cape are returning to school. While it’s an exciting time of year, it also serves as a reminder of how critical the arts are to the next generation.

Thanks to your support of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC), we’ve been able to place a priority on connecting all students in our region to the opportunity to enjoy, explore, and embrace the arts through funding from our Access ProgramScholarships, and AFCC Grants.

Access to the arts ignites the power of creativity in kids of all ages — but access to the arts is often out of reach for hundreds of children and families right here in our own community.

Kids on the Cape need our help.

Give the Gift of the Arts to Kids in Need

Here’s what your donation can do for children on Cape Cod:

$250 underwrites transportation costs for classroom field trips

$100 defrays the costs of music lessons for a family facing economic barriers

$50 contributes to arts programming grants for students in pre-school through high school

The high cost of living, lack of attainable housing, and inflation have made it increasingly more difficult for families in our region to connect children to arts activities on Cape Cod.

May I ask for your help today? Let’s open doors for kids that build confidence, give them lifelong connections, and allow them to better understand themselves and the world around them.

The one thing I can tell you is that your gift — no matter what the amount — will change the lives of families you may never meet, but who will be forever grateful for your generosity.

Thank you for your consideration to help.

With gratitude,

Julie Wake

Executive Director

AFCC Steps Up for Cape Kids

Your generosity — and understanding of the significant impact the arts can have in the life of a child — has allowed us to step up and address this need through:

AFCC Access — Since 2018, we have connected economically disadvantaged children to year-round extracurricular arts programs, including acting classes, painting workshops, writing courses, and more. AFCC Access also funds transportation costs that have made 15 cultural field trips (impacting nearly 1,000 students), in schools throughout Barnstable County, a reality since the fall of 2019.

Grant Giving— Last year, we funded 42 cultural projects, totaling $77,800, for arts organizations, educators, and artists throughout the Cape. That included 14 programs specifically geared towards area youth.

Educational Scholarships— When a high school senior wants to pursue the arts in college, we believe that’s an investment worth funding. And we know you do too.

Thank you for helping to make this important work possible!
