Annual Distribution of Backpacks and School Supplies Taps into School Districts and Local Organization to Distribute 16K Backpacks in the Midst of the Pandemic
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The non-profit organization, Back to School Celebration of RI, will convene on Saturday state and local officials, major sponsors, key partners and families to kick-off the distribution of 16,000 backpacks filled with school supplies.
This year, as a precautionary safety measure related to the ongoing pandemic, the Back to School Celebration of RI will take the modality of a drive-by.

About the Back to School Celebration of RI: For 23 years the organization has served thousands of families statewide by providing the necessary resources for each child to be successfully prepared for their school year.
The Back to School Celebration program, which started with only 600 backpacks and few school supplies at a single site, has now expanded to 16,000 backpacks and supplies at twelve community sites throughout the state.
The Back to School Celebration of Rhode Island is a 501 c3 non-profit organization created to involve parents in the education of their children, helping to create an atmosphere of trust and open communication between schools, students, and families.
