GIRL SCOUTS OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND

OPEN HOUSE AUGUST 27TH

GSSNE Kicks Off New Troop Year with Second Annual Back 2 Troop Day Celebration!

Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England (GSSNE) is excited to announce the official kickoff to the 2022-2023 troop year with the second annual Back 2 Troop Day on Saturday, August 27th from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM at GSSNE Council Headquarters at 500 Greenwich Ave., Warwick, RI.

GSSNE welcomes families and youth of all ages to attend.

This is a fantastic chance to learn more about Girl Scouting and our four pillars—STEAM education, life skills, the outdoors, and entrepreneurship—and families will also be able to register their child for Girl Scouts right before the school year begins while enjoying our freshly updated Leadership Center.

Current members are invited to stop by to enjoy the fun as well and pick up their supplies for the new year!

Attendees can plan on a parking lot style party including opportunities to shop some of your favorite local vendors & artisans, an appearance from Samboni the Providence Bruins mascot, informational tables for parents and volunteer opportunities, an appearance from local radio station 92 Pro FM, GSSNE Shop specials, kids’ yoga classes by Om Kids Yoga, an ice cream truck, face painting, on-site troop set-up/registrations, games, prizes, and more!

“Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England is absolutely thrilled to welcome the community to our Leadership Center on August 27th for Back 2 Troop Day.

Over the last year and a half our council has undergone some exciting changes and we’re so proud to share them all with everyone at our grand re-opening. From the at-your-fingertips support that our volunteers are receiving, to the innovative programs and opportunities that our Girl Scouts are being afforded – we are committed to being the premiere leadership organization for girls.

It’s an amazing time to become part of Girl Scouts and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of the team that is transforming and modernizing the Girl Scout experience while keeping the traditions that created us at the forefront of all we do.” said Jordan Donofrio, Senior Manager, Membership Systems & Recruitment.

We Are Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs across Southeastern New England, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends.

Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
