DEAR NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS,
This month we’ve been able to talk to so many people in our community! Organizations throughout Providence have been hosting mayoral forums and they’re a great way to meet the candidates and hear more about our platforms.
Just this week we joined the Central Providence Health Equity Zone and ONE Neighborhood Builders for a forum focused on three issues that are critical to our quality-of-life: housing, safety and education. We know that without affordable and accessible housing, high-quality education opportunities and a sense of safety our community cannot thrive.
I’m so grateful to groups like the South Elmwood, Reservoir Triangle & Washington Park neighborhood associations who came together to host a forum for neighbors to dive into the issues and ask questions of the candidates.
And last week we stopped by the Jimmy Gillen Teen Center for a conversation about how we can best support our recovery community with RICARES. As someone who is in long-term recovery, these issues are incredibly important to me. As a community, we must do more to destigmatize addiction and provide the necessary support to our neighbors that can save lives and help people find recovery.
We’re only 32 days away but there are debates and forums coming up for you to attend! I encourage you to ask questions, learn more about my experience and visit my website to learn more about my plan to get back-to-the-basics and make Providence the best-run city in the country.
Best,
Brett
