Citizens Announces $150,000 in Financial Empowerment Contributions to Nonprofits in Rhode Island

 

 

Rhode Island (April 25, 2022) – Twelve nonprofit organizations in Rhode Island will receive support from Citizens through a set of grants to help those they serve make informed financial decisions. Through the bank’s Citizens Helping Citizens Manage Money program, these nonprofits will receive a total of $150,000 to support work in this critical area.

“We believe strong financial knowledge is essential to realizing one’s potential,” said Citizens Rhode Island market executive Barbara Cottam. “Through our support of financial empowerment programming, we are providing members of our communities with the confidence and tools they need to own their financial success.”

Across the communities it serves, the bank will provide over $1.5 million in contributions to 97 nonprofits in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York. The initiative gives people tools they need to budget, save, invest, and be financially healthy, inspiring them to pursue their goals.
