FRIENDS OF LIBRARY OFFER COLLECTORS’ CORNER

EAST PROVIDENCE PUBLIC LIBRARY

 

Volunteer members of Friends of the East Providence Public Library have gathered more than 60 special or unusual books that have been donated by library patrons. These collectible books will be available at the Spring Book Sale or can be ordered by email and picked up at Weaver Library.

The books are listed with a short description and price on the site. Dozens of books are featured on a wide variety of topics. More are added as they arrive.

Among the current books offered in the Collectors’ Corner are Elbert Hubbards’s Scrapook and The Notebook of Elbert Hubbard

 

These are limited, hand-made editions from the first arts and crafts community in America.

 

The set sells for $100.

 

An author-signed copy of Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg is available for $15 and a 2020 author-signed copy of Rage by Bob Woodward sells for $10.

 

For history lovers, there is a 1949 first edition of Doctors of Infamy: The Story of the Nazi Medical Crimes for $40. 

 

Also featured is a selection of more than 15 Heritage Press editions of classics such s Gulliver’s Travels and Moby Dick for $5 each.

Collector’s Corner books will be available at the Spring Book Sale at Weaver Library April 7 to 10.

All proceeds from the Collectors’ Corner benefit the East Providence Public Library.
