Notes from Commissioner Infante-Green
Black History Month
ANGELICA INFANTE-GREEN
RIDE is proud to celebrate Black History Month and to recognize and celebrate the many accomplishments of the Black community locally and nationally.
This is one of our most important observances and an opportunity to reflect on both how far we have come and what more we can do to provide every child with an inclusive, high-quality education.
Some of our community partners have put together excellent resources for educators and anyone who wants to learn more about Black history here in Rhode Island.
We encourage you to visit the pages created by the Rhode Island Historical Society and the Secretary of State’s office, and to see some of the other great items they’ve shared in their entries further down in the field memo.
RIDE remains committed to creating a more equitable education system and helping our schools provide an excellent education that empowers young Black Rhode Islanders to make their own mark on history.
Thanks,
Angélica
