CLASSICAL HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

Classical High School Alumni Association

A Message to the Classical High School greater community from the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association

Jevonya Jenkins Allen

After serving as the Executive Director of the Classical High School Alumni Association since November 26, 2018, Jevonya Jenkins Allen’ 97 has let us know that she will be leaving her position, effective January 15, 2022, for new opportunities and adventures that will guide her in a different professional direction.

We will miss her positive, confident outlook, her personable, genial manner, and her ever-present smile.

Jevonya is leaving our Alumni Association in a better place than when she began three years ago.  Jevonya has worked closely with the Board to help it achieve its mission to preserve and support the tradition of excellence at Classical, to build and maintain relationships among Classical alumni and friends, to raise funds for Classical activities, and to enhance the educational experience of current students at the school.

Jevonya, class of ’97, is one of us, and her experiences at Classical helped inform her role.

During her tenure, Jevonya expanded the reach of our social media presence to engage more alumni and donors; developed strong connections with Principal Scott Barr and members of the faculty to manage awards by the Alumni Association of many, many thousands of dollars in teacher and other grants for additional resources, programs, and activities; cultivated robust relationships with faculty, parents, students, and donors; and even eloquently addressed the senior class of 2021 at graduation.

Jevonya was a key partner in the Alumni Association’s successful annual fund-raising campaigns in both 2020 and 2021.

Jevonya has also worked closely with the Board to develop policies and procedures governing areas within the sphere of Board oversight and accountability.  She has kept us on track during her tenure and always managed to produce within her easy reach whatever information we requested.  Jevonya had many opportunities as Executive Director to demonstrate her leadership and quiet grace.

Jevonya, we are grateful for your service.  We hope for the fulfillment of all your dreams and expect to hear great things from and about you in the future.  Please keep in touch.

Thank you, Jevonya.
