Christmastime at Historic Linden Place Mansion
Stunning decorations, holiday décor workshops and concerts await you at the 200-year old mansion this holiday season!
A towering Christmas tree framed by a Gothic conservatory, elegant decorations on every mantle and in every nook and cranny, holiday jazz and décor workshops, these are just a few of the many delights that await you this Christmas season at Linden Place Mansion in downtown Bristol, Rhode Island. For the first time in two years, the mansion’s parlors, bedrooms, and magnificent conservatory are magnificently transformed for your enjoyment.
The mansion is now open for the holiday season and tours run through December 31. Self-guided tours are available Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $12, $10 for seniors and students and free for kids under 12.
Don’t forget to visit Linden Place’s Museum Shop which is stocked with wonderful hostess gifts and a broad range of Rhode Island history books as well as an extensive collection of locally made gifts.
The holiday event season kicks-off with two fireside concerts with pianist and singer, Michael DiMucci. DiMucci will be performing on Friday, December 3 at 7:30pm. For those who prefer an afternoon concert, DiMucci will do an encore performance on Sunday, December 5 at 2:00pm. These fireside concerts in the carriage house-style ballroom are a perennial sellout with a mix of classical numbers and Christmas standards.
On Saturday, December 4 from 10am-12pm, join professional floral designer, Julie Christina, for a wreath-making workshop.
All materials and supplies are provided and each participant will take home a custom evergreen wreath with embellishments such as seed pods, cones and ribbons to take home and enjoy.
The morning includes warm cider and a few holiday treats. The perfect holiday outing with friends, date night or gift to yourself!
On Thursday, December 9 from 6-8pm, floral designer, Julie Christina, is back at Linden Place for an evergreen centerpiece workshop. Create your own professional-grade festive holiday centerpiece for your table or mantle using flowers, foliage, dried items and more! All materials, vase and supplies are provided and wine and holiday bites will be served. Grab a friend and enjoy a festive, creative night!
On Friday, December 17, at 7:30 PM, the sounds of saxophonist, flutist, and composer, Greg Abate, and his quartet of piano, drums and bass will fill the Linden Place ballroom. The limited-seating concert will include be-bop, jazz standards, Abate’s original compositions and some holiday classics!
Last, but certainly not least, Linden Place hosts a Holiday Origami Workshop on Sunday, December 19 from 1pm-3pm with local artist, Susan Morretini. Take time out this busy holiday season! Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding. Practitioners tout origami’s ability to teach patience and concentration while being fun and captivating.
This class will include Christmas ornaments and mantle pieces. Perfect for ages 12 and above, beginners and intermediate origami lovers.
